Privacy policy

We store as little as possible and only what we need to handle your booking. This page describes which data that is, why we have it and what rights you have.

Who is responsible

Olle and Celine, who let Hestrahuset as private individuals, are the controllers of your personal data. You can reach us at ollevalentin@gmail.com.

What we store

• Name, email address and phone number.
• Your booking dates, number of guests and pets, and any choices such as cleaning and cancellation policy.
• Price breakdown and booking status.
• The language you booked in, so that our emails to you are sent in the same language.
• A reference to your payment at Stripe. We never see your full card details – Stripe handles them.
• If you booked the house through another booking platform, we store your name, town, number of guests, dates and your message to us from the booking confirmation, so we can prepare your stay. This data is deleted in the same way as other booking data.

Why we store it

The data is used to carry out and confirm your booking, take payment, handle any cancellation or refund and contact you about your stay. The legal basis is the performance of our contract with you (the booking). We also keep data in receipts and records to comply with Swedish bookkeeping law.

How long we keep it

Booking data is kept for as long as needed for your stay and a short time afterwards. Records covered by bookkeeping law are kept for seven years. After that the data is deleted or anonymised.

Who helps us (processors)

To run the site we use a few suppliers who process data on our behalf:

• Stripe – payments.
• Resend – sending booking and confirmation emails.
• Neon – the database where the booking is stored.
• Vercel – running and hosting the site.

We never sell your data and do not use it for marketing.

Cookies

The public site uses no tracking or marketing cookies. We store one cookie that remembers the language you chose. Otherwise only technically necessary data is handled during the booking itself.

Your rights

You have the right to know what data we hold about you, to have incorrect data corrected and to have data deleted when we no longer need it. Write to ollevalentin@gmail.com and we will help you. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can contact the Swedish supervisory authority, Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten (IMY), or the data protection authority in your own country.
